Other Interests
Sports - When I was 7 years old I enrolled in my first and favorite sport, soccer. I have learned so much about myself and how to navigate my life on the soccer field, playing for my club and school teams, along with loving watching professional soccer. Shortly thereafter, I picked up swimming which I quit during my freshman year of high school in favor of other sports. In high school, I participated in cross country, soccer and track; managing my schedule and keeping myself organized to participate in all three sports while maintaining academic excellence. I participated in the varsity teams for all three sports, and qualified for state playoffs in soccer, as well as county championship races for cross country and track multiple times.
Music - I love listening to various types of music, especially cultural music due to my diverse background and interest in how each culture has elements that makes their music unique. I am also a self-taught guitar player; I started two years ago and I always practice in my free time.
Arduino's/Microcontrollers - I've done lots of projects with microcontrollers, some even listed on this site. I have learned to utilize them to create various projects which utilize different sensors and components for features such as programmable buttons, led displays, and even Bluetooth control.
Video Games - My engineering and design journey being where it is now can certainly be largely attributed for my love of video games. They require a surprising amount of strategy, teamwork and practice to succeed in and they are a great way for me to de-stress.
Puzzles - These appeal to me because they help sharpen my critical thinking skills and are a great start to my mornings. As of recently I have taken an interest in Rubiks cubes, learning how to solve a standard cube and then moving on to various harder variations of it. I enjoy the challenge of being stuck on something and having to use logic and memorization to figure out what my next steps are.
